Complex Blog x Kid Cudi

via. DATNEWCUDI.

When it comes to young rappers, it seems like Kid Cudi might be a bit better off than the rest of the gang. Not only did Cudi just ink a deal with Universal Motown, but he also has music’s biggest star, Kanye West, in his corner. Cudi and Complex have long had a relationship (he actually modeled for us back in 2006), but after we tapped him and his homies in a blog post and he responded, we weren’t sure if things were cool…

That is, until Cudi came through the eckoplex yesterday for his first press day, and he kept it realer than most. In this exclusive interview, the Double-O representer talks about how he wants to be bigger than Kanye and Lil Wayne, the screaming match he had with Wale last week, and that rumored Reebok situation that went down in Phoenix. Yup, we back friends like Puffy and Steve Stoute…

This is a great interview so make sure you read it. For the full interview visit the Complex Blog.

as usual, great interview. i dont know what it is with cudi but every time i hear him speak i like him more (no homo). i think most of the functional public is looking for an entertainer like cudi. a dude who just wants to do his thing and not get involved with all the bullshit. how many entertainers have we seen in the past 10 years jump at the chance to talk shit about someone to make waves to get press. its refreshing as fuck to see some people out there with a real head on their shoulders, not just acting a fool and spouting off at the mouth to get attention. its also cool to see an entertainer grow up as those of us who have been paying attention to cudi for a minute have seen over the past few years. maybe its cuz he is from cleveland, i dunno but i seem to relate to this dude more and more every day. i cant tell you how many times in my professional life i have lost control and in a weak immature moment told everyone i was going to quit. i am glad that he has stepped back and looked at the big picture. its also good to know we have a rapper who is more into making music instead of all the other shit that most of these fools thrive on. i really hope for the sake of sane people cudi continues his sucessful ride to the top for a long time. i dont know if i can handle any more of this reality tv drama type shit all the time. that shit got old in the 90's, lets move on to a new era.

PS-bring on the hate, im like cudi i wont even respond to your hater ass
