Mexican Ambassador Open to Marijuana Legalization

via. HighTimes.

Appearing on Face the Nation, Mexican Ambassador to the United States, Arturo Sarukhan, called marijuana legalization “a debate the we have to take seriously” as a way of curbing the violent drug trade in his nation. At two minutes and twenty seconds into this Sunday morning interview, host Bob Schieffer poses a rather obvious – but until recently completely ignored – solution:

“Mr Ambassador, what if marijuana were legalized? Would that change this situation?”

Meanwhile, on a recent trip to Mexico City, US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton admitted that the War on Drugs has failed, fueling a rise in violence on both sides of the border. "Clearly what we've been doing has not worked," Clinton told reporters at the start of her two-day trip, before promptly promising more of the same.
