Ex-Cleveland Indians sluggers Jim Thome and Manny Ramirez re-unite on Los Angeles Dodgers

Two of the sluggers who helped the Cleveland Indians reach the World Series in 1995 and 1997 - then later left Cleveland as free agents - are together again.

The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired Jim Thome from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for a minor leaguer late Monday night, after Thome had cleared waivers.

He joins outfielder Manny Ramirez on the National League West-leading Dodgers, whose third baseman, Casey Blake, is another former Indian.

Thome, 39, is Cleveland's all-time home run leader (334) and 12th (564) among baseball's career leaders. Ramirez, 37, stands third (236) on the Indians leader list and 15th (542) among baseball's all-time leaders.
